Letter to the President

Here's a letter I just sent to the President.

Dear Mr. President:
Your decision today to reject the Keystone XL pipeline will deny thousands of jobs to out-of-work Americans.  This Keystone project would have cost the taxpayer ZERO, unlike past stimulus bills favored by you and those in Congress.  In fact, the Keystone project would have added millions of dollars to state coffers at a time when states are desperate for additional revenue.

It belies logic why, at a time of near record unemployment, you would stand in the way of job creation.  You traversed the country a few months ago, touting your “jobs” plan – a plan to spend hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars only to deny a real jobs plan that would cost taxpayers nothing.

It is clear that the only job you are concerned about is your own.

I checked the box requesting a reply.  When, and if, I get a response, I’ll post it here.

  1. Stiff business! Just for the record, Canada has approved their end of this pipeline :)

  2. The reason the president did not approve the Keystone XL pipeline is because it contravenes his engery plan for th US. Under the president's energy plan "gas prices would necessarily rise to $5 per gallon." Remember that comment during an interview leading up to the 2008 elections? Moreover, Energy Secretary Dr. Steven Chu thinks the price of a gallon of gas should be $10. As you can see, approving the Keystone XL pipeline would expand the supply of gas in the market and lower prices, but our "rulers" think they know what is best for us and cannot allow that to happen. "We the people" suffer the consequences of economically illiterate fools making decisions for us. Let's vote out these fools!

  3. I don't think I'll get my annual White House Christmas party invite this year. In fact, I may get a visit by the IRS.

It's time to call a spade a spade. The president talks about creating jobs in one breath, and in another he rejects a sure-fire plan to create jobs.

    Can't have it both ways.
