Scary Stuff

“Senators spent hours Thursday arguing over a provision [in the Defense Appropriation Bill] that authorizes the indefinite detention without trial of some terror suspects, including American citizens.”  ~ WSJ.

I would imagine the Chinese and North Koreans are quietly smiling at this.  After all, how can we accuse them of human rights abuse if we’re doing the same thing?  No matter what your stance concerning the “war on terror” or whatever they’re calling it these days, you should be very troubled that your government could haul you away without hope of a trial, by simply labeling you a terror suspect.

Scary stuff.  What is happening to our freedoms?
